Aroma oils how to use without an aroma lamp. Aromatherapy at home

Aromatherapy is treated differently: someone gets carried away and sees the result, someone is condescending, but nothing more, and someone even considers this direction to be heresy. But even the most real skeptic is unlikely to argue with the fact that smells play an important role in our lives. And if so, then basic knowledge of the theory of aromas will not hurt anyone, right?

The fact is that our olfactory system (the system for perceiving and processing information about the world around us with the help of smell) is a very ancient apparatus, much older than the logical apparatus. Different odors and aromas affect different areas of the brain in different ways, some are able to calm and even cause drowsiness, others excite, others cause anxiety, others make us feel hungry, etc. And the ability to use the power of odors to create “weather in the house” is a very useful skill.

aromatherapy for home

There are two ways to scent rooms. The most common are aroma lamps or incense burners: water is poured into a container, essential oil or a mixture of oils is dripped into the water, a heating candle is placed down. A variation of this method can be considered the use of a fumigator, which our enterprising citizens have attached to aromatherapy: essential oil is dripped onto a metal plate of the fumigator, after which the device is left on for 30-40 minutes.

The second way is to aromatize rooms with a glass or ceramic atomizer (plastic atomizers are not suitable, essential oils corrode plastic). This method, by the way, is very effective for air sterilization during a flu epidemic, for example. In 1 tablespoon of alcohol, dissolve 5 drops of tea tree oil or myrrh, and pour this mixture into 1 liter of water in a spray bottle. Be sure to shake the solution before use.

Dry flowers and herbs are also excellent for long-term aromatization, they absorb essential oils well and evaporate their aroma for a long time. The classic way is a vase with dry buds and petals, oils can be dripped directly on the flowers, then the petals are gently mixed and left. When the smell fades, you can simply apply the mixture again. Aromatherapists advise taking a vase with a narrow head, dropping oils or a mixture of oils into it, placing a bouquet of dried flowers and sealing the neck with wax - the bouquet will scent the room for a long time.

Cabinets are flavored according to the same principle - dry herbs and flowers are stuffed into a plastic or fabric bag, essential oil is dripped on them, after which the bag is tied (holes are pierced in polyethylene) and placed in a cabinet. The classic recipe of our grandmothers for fighting moths: 5 k of lavender essential oil per bag, it is better to put a bag in each compartment of the cabinet.

aromatic blends for the home

So, we make an aromatic mixture. All main flavors can be divided into groups:

  • soothing oils: geranium, lavender, patchouli, ylang-ylang, lemon balm, neroli, rose, cedar, valerian;
  • essential oils used with nervous exhaustion: mint, marjoram, cloves, rosemary, lemon, thyme, basil, camphor, ginger;
  • essential oils used in depression: bergamot, geranium, lavender, ylang-ylang, lemongrass, cedar, jasmine, lemon balm, violet, cedar, vanilla, yarrow, neroli
  • oils used for increase tone and performance: peppermint, bergamot, eucalyptus, lemongrass, patchouli, rosemary, geranium, clary sage, neroli, lemon balm, orange, rose, rosewood, ylang-ylang, cedar, grapefruit
  • erotic oils: ylang-ylang, patchouli, jasmine, rose, grapefruit, sandalwood, vetiver.

In the aroma lamp, you can use both pure oil and pre-made mixtures. Competently composed mixtures are barely felt, the smell does not press, it is barely felt. If one of the smells is too aggressive and you constantly notice it and think about it, then it does not suit you, make another recipe.

Here are some recipes from the famous aromatherapist L. Dmitrievskaya. If there are constant quarrels in the house, and all family members are tense, then you can try a little defuse the situation with a mixture:

Stress Reducing Blend:

* lavender - 2 drops;
* geranium - 1 drop;
* Melissa - 3 drops.

This mixture has a delicate herbal aroma that soothes and relaxes, you want to stop making a fuss and fall on the village, count the stars in the summer night sky.

mental health blend

In the room where the child is doing homework, you can use the mixture, enhancing brain activity:

* clary sage - 2 drops;
* ylang-ylang - 1 drop;
* grapefruit - 3 drops;
* lemongrass - 2 drops;
* rosemary - 2 drops.

And if the child is afraid to fall asleep and stay in the room alone, then fight fear another mixture will help:
myrrh - 2 drops;
chamomile - 1 drop;
neroli - 2 drops.

relaxing blend

Depending on the tasks, in the bedroom (the proportion is given for a room of 15-20 m, if the room is smaller, reduce the volume of each oil by a drop), you can put a censer with relaxing aroma:

* cinnamon - 3 drops;
* Melissa - 4 drops;
* chamomile - 3 drops;
* lavender - 4 drops.

erotic mix

And if relaxation is not included in the plans, then try exciting mixture:

* Ylang-ylang - 2 drops
* Limett - 2 drops
* Rose - 1 drop
* Sandalwood - 1 drop

Do not pour more oil into the aroma lamp than indicated in the recipe - too harsh and strong smell will most likely lead to the opposite of the desired result.

Try it, aromatherapy is interesting!

Have you ever had this: when you enter someone’s house, you involuntarily wrinkle your nose from a sharp, unpleasant smell, or even a whole bunch of them, and the rest of your visit comes down to looking at your watch and thinking through a plan for a correct escape to fresh air? Or maybe it happened at home too? If you sadly nodded or are afraid of such a fate, the post is very relevant! Smell is perhaps the main component of comfort. It should be pleasant and hospitable, so that you always want to return home. The choice depends entirely on the tastes of the owners.

Aromas for the home can be divided by composition:

  • Perfumed - with a high price range. These are perfumes that are sold in perfume shops and departments for the home ("TSUM", "ZARA HOME", "H&M HOME", "THE BODY SHOP")
  • Synthetic - the cheapest home fragrances that deceive our body. It seems that we breathe flowers, in fact we inhale additives. Outstanding representatives: IKEA, AUCHAN, FIX-PRICE stores
  • Natural. The products are made on the basis of natural ingredients and oils. ("BOTANIKA", "STYX", "IRIS", "ELFARMA".) During production, natural essential oils are neither chemically processed nor mixed with artificial fragrances

It is better not to use the first two options. Perfume contains up to 30% perfume oils and up to 85% alcohol, not counting the huge number of unknown ingredients. Back in 1986, the US National Academy of Sciences published a report that 95% of the chemicals used in perfumery are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. They include toxic substances that cause allergic reactions, cancer, and birth defects.

If you come across a synthetic perfume fragrance, most likely it contains phthalic acid esters. Phthalates are added to combine the ingredients and get a rich smell! Manufacturers have reduced the cost, and we breathed in more toxic, but we don’t have enough ... Phthalates contribute to the development of diseases: hormone failure, difficulties in getting pregnant, respiratory diseases, oncology, and pregnant women are threatened with disruption of the normal development of the fetus. That's it.

Avoid the following symbols: DHP, BBP, DIDP, DBP, DEHP, DINP, DEP, V, PVC, triangle of arrows, and inside the number 3 - these are all phthalic compounds. If the package says phthalate Free, take it, it's a good product!

Natural essential oils are great! They create a unique smell in every room. They have a healing effect on the human body: they improve the condition of the skin and hair, calm or stimulate the nervous system, restore normal performance, harmonize the emotional state, relieve sleep disorders, have antitumor activity, many oils are strong erotic stimulants.

For example, with the help of sandalwood, neroli, chamomile, you can speed up the healing process of wounds. Intensive massage with oils of orange, grapefruit will help get rid of cellulite. By adding lavender, ylang-ylang, mint oils to the bath, you can eliminate insomnia.

How to apply essential oils?

Essential Oil Spray Methods:

1. Aroma lamps

The classic ones consist of 2 parts: the lower one is designed for a small candle, water and oils are poured into the upper part, at the rate of 2 drops per 5 sq. m of floor space. Catalytic ones look like a vessel filled with oil, a wick with a catalytic burner (platinum-plated + ceramic) is placed there. The burner is lit, after 2 minutes the flame is blown out and covered with a special protective lampshade. The room is aromatized, plus, unpleasant odors are removed and bacteria in the air are destroyed.

You can install an aroma lamp in any room, but in an area inaccessible to children. Do not place it on flammable surfaces (tablecloth, plastic, oilcloth). Before use, ventilate the room well, and then light the lamp, closing all doors and windows so that the aroma does not evaporate into the void.

2. Natural wax candles: bees, soy, vegetable, coconut, apricot

Ideal for use in the bedroom or while taking a bath. Candles are not compatible with electricity, so when you light candles, turn off the lights and enjoy. In such an atmosphere, you can create a romantic and even intimate mood or meditate.

A bunch of pros:

  • Naturalness (100%!)
  • Hypoallergenic ⠀
  • Safe for children
  • Rich smell
  • Doesn't breathe for a long time
  • Economic consumption (30-90 hours)

3. Sachet

Pillow with fragrances, intended for aromatization of the room, linen. Fragrant sachets can be placed anywhere: in the kitchen, in the children's room, in the closet or bathroom. For example, a pleasant mixture of lavender, rose petals and yarrow is suitable for a bedroom, and you can put a sachet with chamomile, lavender in a nursery. The sachet is placed in the closet with clothes - linen always smells good. Mint, lemon balm, rosemary will help maintain immunity during colds. Plus, these cute little things can decorate the interior of the house.

4. Room spray

Aromatizer in aerosol packaging. You can buy or mix water and oils in a spray bottle: let it be a little home ritual, a little meditation. You can spray water with a few drops of lavender throughout the apartment to disinfect the air, or put it in the toilet instead of artificial sprays. Room sprays are also suitable for fabrics. They can be sprayed on bed linen, upholstery of upholstered furniture, clothing. The fragrance is more intense in the air, but lasts longer on the fabric.

5. Aroma Cubes

Wax cubes for aroma lamps. A good alternative to scented candles without an open flame. It is enough to put them in a bowl, and when the wax begins to melt, the room will quickly fill with aroma.

6. Fragrant blends

A set of natural flowers, herbs poured into an open bowl and poured with essential oils. Such flavors are placed on the table, window sill, shelf, they are not heated, they are already ready for use.

7. Diffusers

They consist of three parts: a bottle, a set of sticks, an aromatic composition. The diffuser does not need to be set on fire, extinguished, it does not need to be monitored. It is enough to adjust the intensity of the smell once: if you want a strong aroma, put all the sticks. If you like a faint smell, remove a few. If you have put all the sticks and the aroma seems weak, turn the sticks over. The diffuser costs about three months, but it all depends on the volume.

8. Ultrasonic aroma diffuser

This is a small device designed to diffuse essential oils. During operation, the device also regulates the level of humidity in the room. The intensity of the smell in the room is determined by you: From 5 drops of essential oil (for a light fragrance) to 20 drops per container. If you want the atmosphere of maximum relaxation to reign in the bedroom or if you have difficulty sleeping, place such a diffuser near the bed. Can also be used in the toilet, bathroom, living room.

Which room is suitable for which fragrance?

1. For the kitchen

Citrus aroma oils are suitable for the kitchen: orange, grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, lemongrass. They uplift the mood and effectively neutralize odors.

Life hacks for the kitchen:

  • You can make a mixture of 5 drops of cloves and 4 drops of limette oil (Mediterranean sweet lemon).
  • Want to fill your kitchen with the aroma of coffee? Add 4-6 drops of citrus oil to ground coffee
  • You can soak towels and napkins in water with oils. In addition to a pleasant aroma, bacteria and unpleasant odors are destroyed.
  • Put 2-3 drops of rosemary in your dishwashing detergent, it will smell perfect

2. For the bedroom

Soothing aromas are needed here. Priority is given to rose, fir, lavender, violet, as they are best suited for healthy sleep.

Bedroom hacks:

  • If you want to have a great night, meet the scent of love: ambergris. It improves mood and enhances attraction to a partner. This popular aphrodisiac is formed during the digestion of sperm whales, is a dense substance with a sharp resinous odor. You can use fragrances based on it
  • Vanilla is a simple fragrance that most people like. The smell of vanilla gives energy, harmonizes the atmosphere around, creating an atmosphere of trust. It gives a feeling of joy, improves memory, promotes concentration, revives the thirst for life.
  • We make a sleeping potion: 200 ml of water with 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Pour into a spray bottle and spray onto bedding before bed

3. Fragrances for the hallway

To feel good and pleasant when entering the house, use the aromas of coffee, cedar, lemon, pine, tea tree, bergamot, orange, lavender.

Life hacks for the hallway:

  • For the hallway there are aromatic helpers that neutralize unpleasant odors coming from the entrance: citrus and coniferous
  • There are also “magic wands” for cabinets: lavender. She drives away the moth. But lately, preference has been given to floral and fresh fragrances: cotton, violet

4. Fragrances for the living room

Here the principle “this and that will do” does not work. The flavor can be anything. And no one can pick it up better than the owners of the house. Find your scent. Often choose fruit, flower compositions. Experiment with sandalwood, mint, tangerine, honey. Many people like figs for their sweet, exotic flavor.

5. Fragrances for the bathroom and bathroom

The bathroom is not only a place for relaxation, but also an important element in keeping the house clean and fresh. Washing powders, gels, etc. are used here. In the bathroom you want not only to bathe, but also to spend a pleasant time, forgetting about the busy day. Floral fragrances are ideal for this: delicate rose, soothing lavender. Create an atmosphere of relaxation with candles, petals and beautiful music, and the aroma will unobtrusively envelop and give pleasant emotions.

Few housewives know that you can make your own fabric softener. We share the recipe: 1 liter of water, 150 ml of vinegar, 0.5 cups of soda and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Pour into a bottle and enjoy! For one wash - 100 ml of product

Most often, we use air fresheners in the toilet: it is in it that odors appear that can only be destroyed by strong aromas. Purchased fresheners contain harmful ingredients that enter our body through the lungs, so it is better to refuse them. Fill the diffuser with fresh fruity, citrus scents and take it to the toilet. Room spray can be used additionally. You can apply a few drops of oil inside the toilet paper roll.

6. Fragrances for the workplace

Many people have their own work corner, here's how aromas can be useful in it:

  • To increase concentration, use the scents of lemon, jasmine, mint, rosemary
  • Essential oils of chamomile, ylang-ylang, marjoram, rose, palmarosa will help get rid of irritation and fatigue. Add 35 drops of your favorite essential oil to 150 ml of water. Pour the resulting mixture into a spray bottle and mix well by shaking it. Use the mixture as a body spray
  • Aromas of mandarin, neuroli, coriander, rose or bergamot will help boost your creativity.
  • Grapefruit oil will give self-confidence and optimism

Use of essential oils for domestic purposes

When choosing fragrances for your home, remember that all people are individual and have different tastes. Find your favorite scents that will inspire, energize, soothe and bring happiness. Do not be afraid to experiment - mix different smells, create your own compositions.

There are no trifles in comfort. Aromas in the house are a whole art that can become a family tradition or be your calling card. But not only that! Emotions, sensations, moods, memories are inseparable from smells. From some aromas we flutter like butterflies, others can turn our heads, under the influence of others we can become more optimistic or vice versa get under the covers with hot tea. Aromas are the same as people: gentle, bright or daring. To smell and feel life in all its diversity in your cozy home is wonderful.

Aromatherapy is a pleasant and uncomplicated science. Today, the magazine "Korolevnam.ru" will tell you how to properly conduct an aromatherapy session at home and get a lot of positive emotions.

First, let's take a look at it together:

What is aromatherapy?

Most sources define aromatherapy as a kind of art designed to strengthen and harmonize the spiritual and physical health of a person. Aromatherapy activates the innate resources of recovery and healing of the body.

It is believed that aromatherapy is aimed at maintaining a person's immunity, managing his cognitive and emotional state. In fact, aromatherapy is a universal and “drug-free” method of influencing health.

Specialists in the field of aromatherapy (let's call them professional aromatherapists) still do not guarantee a 100% recovery in the treatment of serious diseases. It is important to remember that aromatherapy is not exactly a medical science.

Let's say more, many doctors deny the positive effects of aromas on health and call aromatherapy a pseudoscience based on the placebo effect. Although, who in the modern world will argue with the amazing properties of a placebo? A man is what he believes in.

But doctors who practice aromatherapy will tell you about the ninety percent effectiveness of this method in combination with therapeutic treatment. Such results can be achieved, of course, under the supervision of a qualified specialist.

Aromatherapy includes several types of exposure:

"Air diffusion": distribution of aromas in the air through aroma lamps, incense in the room to eliminate unpleasant odors, harmonize the emotional background, increase libido and even disinfect the air;

"Local" application on the skin: rubbing aromatic oils into the skin during massage and other cosmetic and medical procedures (including bathing);

Inhalation: direct inhalation of aromas with physio-emotional disorders, that is, emotional exhaustion, depression, fatigue, including some respiratory diseases (acute respiratory infections, colds, runny nose, cough)

Thus, aromatherapy can be carried out at home and in beauty salons. By the way, many Thai, Indian and Turkish SPA-salons are based on the beneficial effects of aromatherapy.

What to do if you really want to try the effect of aromatherapy on yourself, but you don’t know where to start? Then read on and you will be able to independently conduct an aroma session at home *good*

When Aromatherapy Shouldn't Be Done

First, you need to carefully consider the doctor's recommendations regarding the need for an aroma session. Aroma sessions are strictly contraindicated:

  • persons suffering from any type of allergy (food allergy, allergy to household chemicals, cosmetics, dust, wool, pollen, fungal / mold spores; allergic rhinitis; rash, urticaria; especially bronchial asthma, etc.) and at least once a life who suffered Quincke's edema;
  • pregnant and lactating women, as well as persons who have undergone chemotherapy (in this case, aromatherapy is possible ONLY under the supervision of a specialist);
  • persons with high blood pressure;
  • persons suffering from epilepsy.

Choosing the type of aromatherapy

To start an aromatherapy session at home, you will need (optional):

  • oil burner
  • humidifier with aroma oil container
  • electric table lamp/sconce
  • aroma pendant
  • aroma candles
  • aroma sticks
  • aroma stones

No, of course, you do not need to run to the store and buy everything at once. It is enough what you like the most, or what you currently have in your apartment.

Perhaps you are now wondering, what is still better to use from this list? To eliminate your doubts on this or that occasion, we will make a brief overview of all the listed devices.

Oil burner

Aroma lamp is the most convenient and effective option. There are many aroma lamps on the market today. The color, shape, material can be chosen for every taste and even in the style of any interior. The aroma lamp consists of two levels: the first level is for a candle-tablet, the second is for a liquid (water, aroma oil).

The aroma lamp is convenient to use for aromatherapy at home. You need to light a candle and pour some water and a couple of drops of aromatic oil into the bowl. And you can enjoy your aromatherapy session. By the way, you can not add water, but in this case the aroma will be more saturated, and the oil will smoke more strongly.

Do not leave even a small light near children, animals, or people with cognitive disabilities. Remember: your safety must come first!

Humidifier

There are a lot of humidifiers, as well as aroma lamps. There is something for every taste and budget. The cost is mainly affected by the number of square meters that the humidifier is able to "irrigate", or, in other words, the volume of the humidifier.

Also pay attention to the number of hours that the humidifier can work uninterruptedly in economy mode. The humidifier is easy to use for aromatherapy and can be left unattended for a long time. Safe for children and pets.

The benefits of it are twofold: humidification of the air in the room and air diffusion of aroma oil. For the latter function, some humidifiers have a special container where you can pour the aroma oil.

However, you can do without this additional function. It is enough to drop a couple of drops of oil into the water tank itself or directly into the water, which is subsequently poured into the humidifier tank. Here are some tricks. And convenient, and economical, and safe for home use. But more expensive than aroma lamps.

Electric lamp\sconce

Perhaps the most budget option (though not in terms of energy saving). If you don’t want to spend money on a humidifier and an aroma lamp, then you can drop a couple of drops of your favorite oil directly onto an incandescent lamp (sadly, energy-saving lamps are not suitable for air diffusion of oil).

The effect will be more intense, but not as long as in previous cases. Suitable for quick aromatization of the room.

Aroma pendant

This little thing combines two pluses: a stylish decoration and a personal inhaler. There are a great variety of aroma medallions on the market: from ceramics to precious stones.

Thanks to its elegant form (made in the form of a vase with a narrow neck), the fragrance lasts up to 3 days and has a narrow focus (despite the fact that just 1-3 drops of oil are enough to drop into it).

It can be worn around the neck, hung in the car or in the closet. Just do not forget to periodically bring it to your face - the effect will be more distinct. The pendant can also be useful in creating your own unique fragrance.

This talisman pendant can be used not only for aromatherapy at home, but also at work, on the street and wherever you see fit.

aroma candles

Aroma candles already contain essential oils in their composition, so you won’t have to spend extra money on some kind of oil.

Choose the most pleasant smell, or the one that is recommended to you by a specialist, and light it to your heart's content. Just do not forget, please, about fire safety *victory*

aroma sticks

The aroma sticks are also impregnated with oils. Choose according to the same principle as aroma candles. The smell of aroma sticks is more intense and persistent.

The stick is set on fire and extinguished, therefore it is safer to use.

aroma stones

Yes, there are also aroma stones. They are made mainly from environmentally friendly porous natural materials: clay, pumice, gypsum and even ... dough!

Therefore, such useful things can be made independently. A couple of free minutes, creativity and imagination will do their creative work

Here is a brief overview of aromatherapy devices at home. We hope our magazine "Korolevnam.ru" helped you decide on the choice of the right "aroma assistant" *yu*

Choosing an essential oil

Now let's talk about essential oils - the quintessence of the intended aroma session. There are many different oils and it is important to know the difference between them. So, read the labels carefully: some jars have the inscription "100% natural essential oil" or "100% essential oil", and some - "cosmetic essential oil" or "100% aromatic", "100% pure", "100 % essential oil”, “100% concentrated”, or even “mineral oil” (and this is no longer a vegetable, but a processed product). The difference is not only in price, but also in content.

cosmetic oil

Cosmetic oil is a product already diluted with base oil. This oil gives a fast, but unsaturated and "quickly volatile" aroma.

Of course, it costs less. This oil is intended for bathing procedures: adding to a barrel of water, to a broom in a steam room, to a bath. In general, it is intended for "local use", so to speak. The risk of burns with this oil is minimal (but still there!).

natural essential oil

100% natural essential oil is expensive. Just the same it is intended for air diffusion. The effect of this type of oil is persistent, rich and long-lasting. It is dangerous to apply on the skin in its pure form: burns and allergic reactions are possible. Therefore, immediately read the following paragraph about our recommendations for use.

Precautions for using essential oils at home:

  • Categorically it is forbidden to use essential oils internally.
  • Do not use 100% natural essential oil directly on the skin and mucous membranes shells. Oils with a higher phenol content (cinnamon, for example) can irritate the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
  • Aromas are contraindicated for hypertensive patients lavender and rosemary.
  • Read labels carefully instructions for use and purpose of oils.
  • Always follow prescriptions and recommended doses oils to avoid headaches, nausea, vomiting, nervous breakdown.
  • remember, that any essential oil can cause an allergic reaction you, your family members, children, animals and all those who are close to you during the aroma session.
  • Do not use oil near open flames due to its high volatility.

Here are the basic rules that you should be guided by if you still decide to try an aromatherapy session at home. Do not spoil your aroma session: take care in advance to eliminate all interfering factors.

There are several tasks for essential oils in our homes - this is not only the aromatization of rooms, but also the elimination of unpleasant odors, air purification in the house, its disinfection, the fight against unwanted insects and the prevention of their appearance in the apartment. But the main sign of the use of essential oils in the home is, of course, that special atmosphere of comfort and celebration that they create around us.

However, it is important to bear in mind that there are many ways in which the aromas of essential oils affect people, they not only fill the air with smells, but also, depending on the chosen oil, affect the mood, mental state, and emotional background of a person. Some aroma oils liberate and increase self-esteem, others help to calm down, others contribute to concentration, etc.

Why use essential oils in your home

Wanting to change the atmosphere in our home, we can use essential oils:

  • to create the necessary microclimate in the premises;
  • to remove unpleasant odors;
  • for the extermination of pathogens in the house, since almost every essential oil has the ability to disinfect;
  • to prevent the appearance of harmful insects in the home.

Having considered the practical aspects of the use of essential oils, it is worth paying attention to their ability to influence the psycho-emotional state of both each person and the whole family. The use of essential oils can significantly soften the family microclimate, preventing quarrels and conflicts from developing, extinguishing outbursts of irritability to which each of us is prone. By choosing the right aroma of essential oil, you can create a favorable atmosphere of trust and understanding between people, which is especially important when we all get together, on weekends, on holidays, at moments of joint rest. Therefore, the use of aromatic essential oils in the home can be considered a kind of “family” aroma therapy that helps create an atmosphere of harmony and love.

How to use essential oils at home

The most suitable way to aromatize the air in the house with essential oils is to use an aromatic lamp. You can also use a spray bottle to spray the fragrance yourself. Aromatic sachets, aroma stones and even strips of filtered paper soaked in aromatic oils will also do.

There are also less traditional ways to scent the air in a room, such as adding essential oil to the water for washing floors, this method is most suitable for washrooms. At the same time, it is very important to take into account the fact that not every smell will be pleasant to everyone. Therefore, do not be zealous and saturate the house with intense aromas, let it be a light veil of aroma, and not a blow to the sense of smell.

The most common way to create a fragrant environment is an aroma lamp, which helps to create a lighter atmosphere than, for example, an aroma burner. Moreover, the soft light of an aromatic lamp will also fill the house with comfort.

A fragrance for every corner of the house

It is very important to consider that different rooms in the house require different aromatization.

Bathroom fragrance. You need to deodorize and disinfect the air not only in the bathroom, but also in the toilet, and for this, essential oils such as tea tree, lemon, geranium, lavender, eucalyptus or rosemary oil are the best suited. Interestingly, tea tree oil will help get rid of not only unpleasant odors, but also mold (fungus) stains, as well as pathogenic microbes in the bathroom.

Antiseptic properties of essential oils for the home

Each essential oil has bactericidal properties and the effect of natural antiseptics, which should be used to disinfect the air and surfaces in the house. Thus, it will be possible not only to prevent the occurrence of mold and fungus, but also to improve the atmosphere so much that even during seasonal outbreaks of colds, your house will protect all its residents from pathogenic bacteria and speed up the recovery process of already sick household members.

To do this, choose the right oil and, combining it with an emulsifier (for example, salt) in the amount of 30 drops, dilute it in a bucket of water. The most useful in terms of antiseptic treatment will be the essential oils of tea tree, orange, clary sage, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, pine and mandarin.

With the help of essential oils, you can effectively polish and disinfect the furniture in the house. Take any of the above essential oils (10 drops) and combine with two tablespoons of a mixture of alcohol (a tablespoon) and jojoba oil (a tablespoon).

Any detergent can be enriched with fragrant oil, both used for washing dishes and for other surfaces. It is enough to mix it with essential oil, in an amount of 5 to 10 drops. This amount of oil will be enough to enrich 100 ml of detergent. The most suitable in this case will be lemon, geranium and tangerine oils.

You can aromatize not only bed linen, but also any other thing by adding essential oil (10-20 drops) to the washing powder or rinse aid. It is best to wash with rose, spruce, lavender or ylang-ylang oils.

How to deal with insects using essential oil

Often we have to apply chemical repellents to scare off intrusive insects. So in our homes there are electric fumigators, spirals, ointments, creams and many other products that are based on chemistry dangerous to human health.

An alternative way to deal with harmful insects can be the use of essential oils. In this case, clove oil gives a wonderful effect. Geranium, lavender, citronella, eucalyptus, frankincense, patchouli, mint, sage, thyme, cedar and tea tree oils are also great. Moreover, with the help of tea tree oil, you can get rid of the effects of insect bites, even in case of allergic reactions to them.
